Education and Skills for S3
Since its initial conceptualisation, Smart Specialisation has assumed a strong place-based dimension, in recognition that innovation is locally and regionally driven and that different places need different investments. The EC proposal for Cohesion funds for 2021-2027 will strengthen regions’ capacities to implement Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3), through stronger concentration of investments under the Smarter Europe and Greener Europe objectives.
A new call of the EIT HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education is currently open until 28 February 2022

The S3 Platform seeks to collect information from all stakeholders involved in S3 related activities about emerging initiatives that respond to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as redeployment/reorganisation of activities that foster recovery processes.
