The Joint Research Centre organises the workshop "Smart Specialisation Strategies for Sustainable Development Goals: an EU perspective" that will tackle the current and future policies and practices for the localisation of Smart Specialisation Strategies and further integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will bring together EU national and regional Smart Specialisation representatives and experts, sustainable development practitioners and international development actors in order to brainstorm on the existing practices and prospects for the design and implementation of RIS3-inspired STI roadmaps for SDGs. It will take place on June 11th 2019 in Brussels at the Crowne Plaza Brussels, Le Palace.

The European Cluster Conference on 14-16 May 2019 will take place at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, Romania, with more than 400 expected participants representing regional, national and EU policy-makers, cluster organisations, other SME intermediaries and business network organisations and other stakeholders. The event, which is organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, is now open for registration.
This is the first of three workshops, within the targeted support activities, that will tackle the issue of Open Data and Open Science for Monitoring Smart Specialisation. Furthermore, during the workshop we will keep working on the issue of S3 evaluation.
