Sustainable development is a core principle of the Treaty on European Union and a priority objective for the Union's internal and external policies. Joint Research Centre started reflecting on the contribution of Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) already in 2018. Since then a consolidated reflection and methodologies such as S3 for SDGs or S4 (Smart Specialisation Strategies for Sustainability) have been developed in cooperation with experts and practitioners.

Each meeting will be a 2-hour webinar dedicated to a specific publication or train of thought, presented by the authors and allowing for a lively discussion with academics and practitioners and everyone interested in the topic.
