North Macedonia moves forward on Efficient Entrepreneurial Discovery Process
A new workshop on Conducting Efficient Entrepreneurial Discovery Process in North Macedonia was held on the 18th and the 19th of May 2021, with the participation of 20 representatives from public administration, academia and business sectors of North Macedonia.
North Macedonia is currently preparing to launch the nation-wide stakeholder discussion under the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP). The Joint Research Centre (JRC) organised a comprehensive workshop on how to conduct the efficient EDP for future facilitators of the process in North Macedonia as well as for the members of the Smart Specialisation working group of North Macedonia.
During the event, participants were able to learn more about how the EDP contributes to the Smart Specialisation strategy, what the elements of successful EDP are, and the lessons learnt from the experience of EDP in Serbia and the Portuguese region of Alentejo. The second day of the event focused on an interactive session about sub-stages of the EDP, which included stakeholder identification for priority domains, EDP working rules and definition of working groups, EDP workshops and deliverables, and EDP input for S3.
The presentations from the experts and the interactive sessions received positive remarks from the participants who considered the workshop to be very helpful for their current and further efforts. The event was organised to support the Smart Specialisation team of North Macedonia in preparation for the upcoming stakeholder dialogue within the EDP.
