Implementing RIS3 through inter-regional Cooperation: The S3P Thematic Platforms The S3P Thematic Platforms (Agri-food, Energy, and Industrial Modernisation) support regions by fostering interregional cooperation based on matching their RIS3 priorities and developing/sharing infrastructure, such as testing facilities, pilot plants, data centres and Fab-Labs. The Platforms seek to create an investment pipeline of mature projects in new growth areas across the EU that can be supported by combining different EU investment instruments. This session provides an in-depth presentation of the Platforms, including their rationale, current partnerships, how to get involved and benefits of participation, DG JRC assistance, main challenges, etc. This is followed by presentations of current platform partners, who will highlight key features of these partnerships and share their experience with the audience.
