EDP Kick-off event held in Belgrade

After performing thorough qualitative analysis for the verification of the mapping results at the beginning of the year, Serbia became ready to enter the entrepreneurial discovery process (EDP). Being one of the most important anc complex phases of the S3 process, the EDP was carefully planned with the support by external experts and under the guidance of the Joint Research Centre. 

The EDP Kick-off event was organised on March 29 in the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, with the attendance of more than 150 participants from public, private, academic and civil sectors. The event was opened by the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, Mladen Sarcevic, who underlined the importance of evidence-based identification of country’s economic priorities for further investment and competitiveness development and called for all stakeholders within the society to engage in the elaboration of the priority domains identified in the previous steps of the smart specialisation process. 

Part of the event was dedicated to the workshops on the identified priority domains.  

Serbia intends to prepare the draft of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation in the second half of 2019.
