Conference on SMEs Growth Through Digital Transformation

The conference presented the results of the awareness campaign and the steps ahead of the EU initiative on the Smart use of ICT and the integration of SMEs in global industrial value chains.

Attendees could benefit from Christian Reinaudo’s experience as the successful CEO of Agfa Gevaert. Mr Reinaudo explained how in less than five years he turned an old and declining chemical company into a global ICT products and services champion for healthcare providers. He drew up his vision of how to pave the way of European industries employing the smart use of digital to reach the top as future global market leaders.

There was an interactive panel session with global players in ICT and cloud computing. The experiences gathered from a Commission initiative to find the best experimental solutions based on cost benefit and value for money perspectives were shared. The knowledge gathered in five strategic sectors (automotive, textile and fashion, agro-food, tourism, and construction) was presented.
