Sustainable Mobility and Energy Transition | Consolidate the scientific and technological capacity to achieve the upgrade of the components and automotive systems industries in the context of global value chains, as well as to reach a higher added value in other mobility industries and respective infrastructures, thus ensuring a more competitive and sustainable mobility system, in the context of the societal transition towards decarbonization, clean energy, digitalization and new mobility concepts. |
Health and Life Sciences | Consolidate and promote interactions between the research capabilities at the regional level (tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, cancer, neurosciences, surgical techniques...) and companies in the health industries and general services (pharmaceutical, medical devices, ICT, health services, cosmetics...), driving to the development of new products and services that are able to respond to current challenges and contributing to the resilience and sustainability of the health systems. |
Tourism Services and Territorial Assets | Valorization of territorial intensive resources, namely cultural, natural, creative and endogenous resources, taking advantage of scientific and technological capabilities and the relevant tourist offer, with the objective of stimulating tourism services and a better integration of tourism in different cultural, modern and traditional contexts, as a way of expanding the territorial base of promotion of regional competitiveness. |
Sea Resources and Economy | Consolidate the relations between applied engineering, sea resources and economic activities that value them (renewable marine energies, coastal, nautical and cruise tourism, naval industry, biotechnology, aquaculture, maritime equipment, infrastructure...), favouring the creation of a set of synergies that enhance the value creation and the generation of employment in activities related to the sea economy, preserving and promoting the sustainable use of marine resources. |
Technologies, State, Economy and Society | Promotion of accumulated skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics aiming the digital transformation of the economy and society as a process based on a set of digital technologies that ensure the integration of digital technologies in companies, the use of internet services, the promotion of digital skills, the provision of connectivity infrastructures and mobile services and the development of digital public services and open and networked administration. |
Agro-Environmental and Food Systems | Articulation of regional agricultural potential, namely in products with high added value, with scientific and technological capacities and businesses, capable of promoting an agri-food and forestry sectors with greater added value, in a way that is compatible with the preservation and management of natural resources, and of contributing to a greater valorization of endogenous resources as an opportunity to increase territorial competitiveness. |
Industrialization and Advanced Manufacturing Systems | Development of clusters associated to KETs, combining the existent scientific and technological capacities and infrastructures, the existent consolidated business bases (machinery and equipment manufacturing, industrial and consulting engineering, industrial information systems...) and the presence of advanced users sectors (manufacturing industries...), in the context of digital, energy and environmental transformation processes and of new production, management, business and work models. |
Creativity, Fashion and Habitats | Explore the potential of creative industries, new materials and innovative production technologies, creating new competitive advantages in sectors with a strong component of symbolic capital, namely fashion, habitat and other symbolically related activities, in a context of global adjustment of supply chains, as well as increasing digitalization, environmental, social responsibility and energy transition. |
