Name Description
Wood and Furniture The specialization is strongly rooted in the traditions of the region, where the furniture sector and extensive use of wood were developing even before the transformation of 1989. The region has significant competence in the supply of raw materials and semi-finished products, but above all, companies supplying final products are located here. An important element of building specialization is the development of design services and building the voivodship's brand.
Water Economy The specialization is based on the largest surface water resources in Poland, around which tourism and a number of activities have developed, which also have a large innovative potential. Warmia and Mazury are known for the production of yachts, boats, as well as other services related to this industry. Identification of this specialization results from, among others, the needs of environmental protection, in which the region wants to gain international importance.
Healthy Life Based on broadly understood care for the health of the inhabitants of the voivodship and unique potential of the environment of Warmia and Mazury as well as entities in the sector related to medical and related services. The specialization also covers the sector of technologies/services/products for health care, health prevention, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and technologies/services/products related to the low-emission economy and maintaining high quality of the environment.
High Quality Food The specialization is based on the traditional, strong position of agriculture in the region (one of the highest productivity rates in Poland) and food processing based on regional raw materials and short sales chains as well as food production with designed health functions. The region has developed a very strong scientific specialization around food production, in which it is currently achieving significant international successes with well established R+D institutions.
