We make our network and partners to be gathered to share experiences, best practices, means and to learn together how to step ahead to solve any challenge from SMEs seeds spread.
Among projects management, financing opportunities, qualification process, API-K Lab activities are delivering IoT as a clever mix of 4 strong competencies : embedded systems and IT, linked together by a smart comprehension of network and energy stakes.

Link to national or regional initiatives for digitising industry
API-K Lab positions itself as a partner who catalyses the interests of mountain actors for their digital transformation and envisage a "smart mountain".
Aligned upon Region Auvergne Rhone Alpes Region, RIS3 Digital Strategic Plan (2017-2021) API-K Lab makes the key features of the plan as goals for the territory targeted (connecting 100% of the region area; supporting the digital transition of companies; developing new digital competences with the local players in education and professional training; accelerating research and innovation; developing digital citizenship and trust, etc)
As an active member of the Mountain Cluster and of the Euro Alpine Club of the Chamber of Commerce of the Alps, API-K Lab also refers to the different programmes and initiatives specialised for mountain territories: Digital Montagne, EDF 1 Riviere-1 Territoire, ...
We are part of the Regional Innovation Strategy of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with an intelligent area of specialisation dedicated to tourism, development and safety in the mountains (financed by an ERDF programme). In this respect, the valley areas and nature centres allow a joint commitment by the State, the European Union and the local authorities to address the essential issues of the medium mountains.
The region is implementing a new Mountain Plan in which the "development of digital technology in resorts" is one of the 5 strategic axes.
API-K Lab also integrates the competence of "PPP project co-ordinator" within the CREAM Europe PPP Alliance, with a focus on digitalisation projects for territories and industries.
The API-K Lab structure has not yet (in view of its weak anteriority) participated or benefited from a programme financed by European funds, however its management is experienced on these programmes.
The services that API-K Lab offers in the framework of its support activities are :
- IoT communication infrastructure:
o Provision of a LPWAN network on mountain sites
o Management of data on the network: collection and restitution of raw data
- Operational technical support
o Strategy support (functional and operational) on communicating objects with embedded intelligence, and IoT in general.
o Support for the use of LPWAN networks and energy efficiency
o Support for in-situ test operations
- Setting up a business
o Connection with the regional digital ecosystem for the aggregation of skills for project implementation via a consortium.
o Establishing a link with the economic ecosystem in mountain areas for an experimental territory and understanding the marketing of the projects.
- Assistance in the management of innovative projects

Solution Integrator
In order to achieve the digital and ""smart"" transformation of mountain territories, API-K DIH integrates all the available solutions, aggregated with new and innovative solutions, so as to constitute a coherent and available platform. The coordination of projects avoids the dispersion of methods and service updates. The different actors (farmers, accommodation providers, energy producers and suppliers, community services, mountain fauna and flora research laboratories, tourist operators, etc.) can thus operate their own development and service model, in a functional integration.
Support for the Smart Mountain strategy
The digital transformation of a singular territory such as the mountains requires a global understanding of the issues at stake, integrating the reference systems for the sustainable development of the territories. API-K DIH carries the monitoring, the objectives and the methods to ensure the transversality of the strategic vision in connection with the regional, national and European strategies.
Dedicated Services Developer
At the service of local authorities, research organisations, economic operators of the territories, API-K DIH mobilises the required skills (internally and with the ecosystem of the actors of the IoT sector) to model and deliver end-to-end operational solutions (objects, networks, core network, web services, applications,...). These solutions enable the innovative services expected by the actors of mountain territories with specific needs with regard to their economic and natural environment. First class partnership with the PGHM (Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne), with the SNMSF (Syndicat National des Moniteurs de Ski Francais), project of a Chamonix Lab', ...etc... The industrial case we had is the 5 ski resorts who had the need to geolocalise their machines and vehicules on the ski area. We proposed special beacons and we developped an end customer application with integrated ski sloaps map. They could manage their machines and vehicules at a distance and it matched their need to safety the skiers.
