The aim of T2i is to support companies in making innovation an on-going corporate process that will make them regain competitiveness in the market.
T2i is a reliable and consolidated research partner whose work with an extensive network of local, national and international centres of excellence allows the creation of “tailor-made” multidisciplinary work groups to meet clients’ needs.
T2i is a no-profit innovation consultancy firm that fosters the regional innovation ecosystem in the framework of I4MS initiatives performing networking, matchmaking, brokerage and dissemination activities.
T2i supports the companies through IT-enabled services, namely:
•     Technology, Innovation and IP strategy advisoring;
•     Digital assessment, Technical evaluation;
•     Engineering, Testing and Certification (facilities, HPC, User Centred Design);
•     human factors improvement in product/service design and development (e.g. AR, VR, UX);
•     networking with RTD, TTOs, SMEs for technology scouting, applied research and technology transfer;

T2i è un partner di ricerca affidabile e consolidato le cui attività, con un'ampia rete di centri di eccellenza locali, nazionali e internazionali, consente la creazione di gruppi di lavoro multidisciplinari "personalizzati" per soddisfare le esigenze dei clienti.

Link to national or regional initiatives for digitising industry

t2i has a key role in the regional initiative to digitise the industry. t2i's stakeholders are Chambers of Commerce of the Veneto Region (in particular, Treviso-Belluno, Venezia-Rovigo and Verona). t2i merged the Innovation Agencies of the Chambers, thus being able to count on a more than 30 years’ experience in (digital) innovation projects.

t2i role in supporting companies in digital innovation was further strenghtened by the reform of the Chambers of Commerce role in Italy that now, according to the national “Industria 4.0” plan, shall act as hubs to support enterprises in digital innovation, directly and through participated organisations such as t2i.

The hub is also participating in the Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS) initiative of the European Commission through the H2020 funded project, Fortissimo 2.

The company is to reduce internal costs related to the continuous updating of materials databases and dramatically reducing the time-to-compliance with regulations of products before accessing the market, ensuring the prompt implementation of EU policies&directives related to chemicals in EU products and production processes, but also paving the way to efficiently develop new, “greener” products, increasing competitivity in the market.

 

PROVIDED SOLUTION TO MEET THE NEEDS

The solution identified, developed through a Life EU Project, focuses on the development of new ICT tool, that will allow to link each chemical substance used by a company with both the regulatory framework and its impacts on human health and environment, increasing effectiveness and efficiency of information sharing mong the different company functions but also ensuring a shared knowledge of the substances along the whole supply chain: this vertical integration is crucial to ensure an effective and efficient availability of data useful for decision making.

Digital Environmental Impact Analysis

CLIENT PROFILE

eAmbiente is a company focused on environmental consulting and engineering. The company was founded in 2003 and its mission is to understand, design and manage environmental challenges.

CLIENT NEEDS

Environmental Impact Analysis is a task highly time consuming, with several steps that needs to be manually done. the proof-of-concept was satisfying, but specific expertise is now needed to engineer the solution into a commercial product.  The need is therefore to minimize working time with low added value.

PROVIDED SOLUTION TO MEET THE NEEDS

The proposed solution was to apply High-Performance Computing to Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA). Additionally, to overcome the complexity shifting from a proof-of-concept to a commercial tool, the company needed to identify a solution that combined scenario analysis and Artificial Intelligence to support the development of a tool to be implemented in the company processes. Additionally, the cloud-based solution could better meet the needs of field operators that coud access the system remotely.

Collaborative Robotics Solutions

CLIENT PROFILE

BNP Srl is a small Italian company specialized in development and manufacturing of ergonomic accessories and solutions for manual assembly lines. When the company was founded their main products were torque reaction arms. BNP always aimed to offer a complete «smart» assembly line workstation, and to develop partnership with other suppliers (for example, ICT providers, etc.) in order to provide a full solution.

CLIENT NEEDS

There are several existing experiences of collaborative technologies that allow robots and humans to cooperate, however existing solutions lack of the flexibility and usability needed by many companies (especially the ones that manufacture smaller batch), and do not focus enough on the well-being and the comfort of the human operator, that BNP consider crucial. The complexity of the problem required to access specialized scientific know-how, but the company was unable to find a suitable expert.

PROVIDED SOLUTION TO MEET THE NEEDS

t2i supported the assessment of the need and performed a feasibility study, also involving an external competence centre expert in robotics specialized in robot usability and safety, the topics that BNP considered distinctive for the solution they wanted to develop. A collaboration was started to develop an innovative collaborative robotic workstation.

The collaboration allowed BNP to develop a solution with higher added value, allowing to enhance their positioning in the market. Moreover, the experience allowed to start several collaborations with other companies (IT developers, robot manufacturers), that now allows to provide a full solution for any need of the customers, regarding assembly lines.


Predictive Maintenance (IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence)

CLIENT PROFILE

TEXA was formed in 1992 by its current CEO with his friend and partner. Today TEXA is a global leader in the design, development and production of multi-brand diagnostic tools, exhaust gas analysers, air conditioning recharge stations and tele diagnostic devices for cars, bikes, trucks, boats and farm machinery. TEXA head offices are in Monastier di Treviso, where all TEXA products are designed, developed and made.

CLIENT NEEDS

TEXA's device installed in cars and motorcycles gather an extensive amount of data, currently used to monitor the status to the single vehicle. The company was interested to understand if it was possible to use the data available to develop a predictive maintenance service, that could be targeted primarily at fleet managers, and secondarily at car manufacturers (that could use the data to improve vehicle engineering).

PROVIDED SOLUTION TO MEET THE NEEDS

The effective analysis of such a large amount of data required to use Artificial Intelligence algorithms on High Performance Computer systems. The project was carried out in collaboration with CINECA (a non-profit consortium, made up of 70 Italian universities, and the most powerful supercomputing centre for scientific research in Italy). The research was carried out as an experiment in the Fortissimo 2 project, in which CINECA was already a core partner.
