DIGIMAT DIH is introducing and implementing digital technologies into manufacturing companies in South Moravian region (Czech Republic). DIGIMAT DIH coordinates particular activities, contributes to education and recruitment of companies, interconnects companies with experts and helps to establish new projects in order to allow implementation of digital technologies into the Moravian manufacturing companies.
DIGIMAT DIH is first fully operational DIH in the Czech Republic providing companies (especialy SMEs) with customized services including needs analysis, tailor-made solution and its implementation with acredited expert (experts are part of regional expert scheme within programme JIC PLATINN).
DIGIMAT DIH is an open platform to accommodate very diverse needs of Moravian manufacturing companies. Core partners contributing to DIGIMAT DIH are INTEMAC, Brno University of Technology, Industry Cluster 4.0 and JIC. These 4 key members ensure also inclusion of other important actors (such as companies, chamber of commerce) in the DIH activities. Services provided to companies in DIGIMAT DIH are financed from regional government of South Moravian region.
DIGIMAT, neboli "HUB pro digitální inovace ve výrobě malých a středních firem", umožnuje firmám ujasnit si priority při zavádění nových technologií, objevit možnosti pokročilých digitálních technologií a vyzkoušet si spolupráci s dodavateli z řad technologických a IT firem nebo výzkumných organizací na řešeních, ke kterým by se bez finanční podpory jen obtížně dostaly.
JIC a jeho dceřiná společnost INTEMAC spolu se třemi týmy z VUT v Brně, centrem CEITEC VUT a firmami sdruženými v Industry Cluster 4.0 tvoří konsorcium DIH DIGIMAT, které prostřednictvím aktivit jako je vzdělávání firem, analýza potřeb, identifikace dostupných technologií a propojení firmy s relevantním expertem přispívá k dlouhodobé efektivní digitalizaci zdejších výrobních firem.

DIGIMAT DIH started as project impelemented in framework of the I4MS initiative (ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs). This initiative promoted by the EC supported the European leadership in manufacturing through the adoption of ICT technologies.
After the project implementation when services for SMEs were designed and tested with pilot companies, Regional government of the South Moravian region started to provide funding for DIGIMAT DIH services (till 2020)
From the national perspective, DIGIMAT DIH is fully in line with national strategy targeting Industry 4.0 (Průmysl 4.0), and is actively contributing to national activities in newly established National center for Industry 4.0.
The hub's coordinating organization has also actively participated in the Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS) initiative of the European Commission through the H2020 funded project HORSE.
Digitization advisory services - general description
Every company interested in DIGIMAT DIH services is provided with following offer which is provided for free (de minimis regime). Experts cooperating with company based on its need's analysis are independent experts who in cooperation with experts from university provide company with recommendations of suitable solutions or suppliers. The independency of experts and consideration of real needs of the company is the biggest added value of DIGIMAT DIH. General advisory services provided to company are as follows:
1) Needs analysis proving company´s prepareness for digitization
2) Designing tailor-made solutions
3) Connecting company with relevant suppliers/solution providers
4) Recommendation of relevant sources of funding
Services provided to company Zlomek
The Zlomek company is producer of doors and doors components. The company has up to 40 employees and combines machine and hand production (hand production prevails). The company had problem with production planning, standardization of the production process, optimization and human resources optimization and also with web configurator. Output from needs analysis was study with description of critical areas, proposed solutions and necessary steps to be taken.
Proposed solutions included recommendations in the fields of production planning, production process monitoring, production optimization, and web configurator. The web configurator was subsequently developed and implemented by the company into corporate business and production processes. Currently, company considers other investment opportunities connected with the innovations in the company.

Service provided to company Ace Tech
ACE Tech is moravian company (SME) working in the field of production of precision parts of metalworking. This time the company obtained already during the workshop with experts specific solutions designed directly for their needs, also experts from Industry Cluster 4.0. have been involved (this model of cooperation has been verified as most effective for effectiveness of further cooperation with company).
Needs analysis brought following outputs: installation of robots to the machines in order to create unmanned machine, installation of terminal to the machines in order to track workflow, digitalization of controlling. The company decided to invest in new machine tool and after this investment another one in the robot and terminal will follow in the future.

Service provided to company Project Controls
Project Controls company is producer of door components for automotive industry. This company is on its way from hand production towards more automated production. Project controls also established company aimed specifically at automatization.
During the needs analysis, following issues have been identified – online data aggregation, monitoring of processes, predictive analysis and maintenance. Output from needs analysis was study with description of critical areas, proposed solutions and necessary steps to be taken.
Proposed solutions included recommendations in the areas of on-line production data collection and evaluation, paperless production, predictive maintenance and production planning and management. Implementation of the proposed solutions was left to the decision of the management of the company, which also considers other investment opportunities connected with the innovations in the company.
