With smart specialisation strategies in the implementation phase, clean energy is one of the main priorities for most EU regions. This workshop showcases how different sectors of society are taking an active role in energy action. These contributions are addressed by the smart specialisation strategies at the regional level through a bottom-up participative process.
This local action involves the joint participation of public and private bodies, research and academic representatives and civil society organisations in the identification of strategic energy priorities at regional level (e.g. bioenergy, sustainable buildings, solar and smart grids). The target group of this event includes stakeholders and practitioners of smart specialisation strategies that have included energy-related priorities at national and regional levels. The central topic of EUSEW, Clean Energy for All Europeans, will be exemplified in concrete priorities selected by regions. The issue of interregional cooperation on energy and smart specialisation will be also addressed.
