Promoting solar electricity exports from southern to central and northern European countries: Extremadura case study

Under the auspices of the Smart Specialisation platform, this report presents the benefits of cross-border solar electricity trade in Europe. A pre-feasibility assessment of a first of a kind solar plant in Extremadura is conducted to demonstrate the possibility to combine EU financing support mechanisms and the cooperation mechanisms of the RES Directive.
