Name Description
Green Economy Aiming at reducing the impact of the energy sector on the environment, the emphasis of this priority is on the development and introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, as well as alternative forms of coal use. As new waste treatment plants have been built and the principles of selective collection of municipal waste have been gradually introduced, the share of waste collected in a non-selective manner continues to decline.
Healthy Society The Lubelskie Voivodeship is known for its high availability of medical staff. In this respect, the region is above the national average. Patient health care in the region is provided in general hospitals and in long-term care facilities (such as care and treatment facilities, nursing and care facilities, hospices) and also in hospitals and health resorts operating in the region. Besides, patients from all over Poland get the help of specialists treating rare vascular diseases.
Digital Society Lubelskie Voivodeship is the home to one of the best developed IT environments in Poland, namely the Lublin IT Upland. Currently, there are over 6,000 people employed in this industry. A significant number of people studying science in Lublin choose IT and the number of people enrolled in IT studies in the capital of the Region is over 30% higher than the average for 12 metropolises in the country.
Material Technologies, Industrial and Logistic Processes Due to its location on important transport routes in Poland and Europe, transport and storage services are one of the main development potentials of the Lubelskie Voivodeship - they are important for the economic structure of the economy. The reason for this is that the economic model is based on intensive trade. More than 32% of sold production of the region's manufacturing industry was produced in high- and medium-high-tech enterprises.
Quality Food The Region is considered to be one of the most important agricultural areas in the country due to its good natural conditions and large acreage of a very good soil. Its main advantages include also excellent climate conditions, one of the largest share of agricultural land in Poland, a high quality rating of agricultural production space, and a position of a leading producer and supplier of agricultural and fruit products.
