Name Description
Decarbonised, safe and efficient new mobility solutions Normandie is a European leader in the field of logistics and is hosting several major industrial sites of major companies in the fields of automotive, aeronautics and space. It is also facing many challenges in terms of urban growth, digitalisation or environmental and health issues. This is why Normandie will focus on 4 aspects: 1) performance of energy carriers and propulsion systems; 2) electrification and safety of embedded systems and componants; 3) smart mobility and 4) digital mobility.
Protection and sustainable transformation of natural resources Leader in the field of agriculture and food production, Normandie is charaterised by a variety of agriculture, marine and forest resources. Facing the impacts of climate change, Normandie will support innovation to better protect biodiversity, natural resources, to limit impacts as well as ensure safety and product quality for the consumers.
Develop a zero-carbon energy mix Leader in the field of energy production, Normandie will support energy transition along the whole energy supply chain, from production of renewable energies (especially offshore renewables) to storage (hydrogen, batteries), uses (smart grids, energy efficiency) as well as impact management of energy production (development of new materials, recycling, etc.)
New processes for a competitive, digital and sustainable industry Normandie is an industrial region with important stakeholders in the fields of automobile, aeronautics, energy, chemicals, mobility and agri-food. The region is thus willing to support the research-innovation continuum, with a focus on the 4 dimensions of the "Factiry of the Future": testing innovative processes and organisations in an industrial environment; digital transformation of industry; optimisation of energy performance in industry; circularity of materials and processus.
Accelerate synergies and innovation for human and animal health With a very strong expertise in the fields of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, Normandie will support the following sectors: chemistry to boost diagnostic and therapeutical innovations; new technologies and digital tools to develop new health technologies and uses; innovation in terms of biomedical research; development of the One Health approach (collaborative, multisectoral and transdisciplinary approach and recognising the interconnexion between people, animals, plants and their shared environment); health, well-being and resilience (prevention, safe care and products, cognitive and social backing)
Resilience facing technology, climate, natural or social risks Normandie is facing major climate, ecological and industry risks due to its location and the presence of heavy industries on its territories. The objectif is to develop skills and a network involving all stakeholders from research, innovation and industry. The region will focus especially on: development of new technologies to better anticipate and prevent risks (drones, AI); improve practices in terms of risk management; develop a new risk culture and new relationships between industries and territories/local authorities.
