New transnational projects have been granted with funding from Interreg programmes. The support from Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programmes and Interreg South Baltic Programme amounts almost EUR 109 million. Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme approved support for 39 new projects and and Interreg South Baltic Programme accepted 12 new projects.

The objective of this event is twofold: first, it will allow presenting the main findings of the research study: "Smart Specialisation in Latin America" which has been conducted to analyse how policy makers and other territorial actors in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile and Argentina are designing and implementing the Smart Specialisation concept. Second, it will serve as an opportunity to establish active synergies between practitioners of smart specialisation in the European Union and Latin America.

European Digital Progress Report: unequal progress towards the Digital Single Market

The analysis shows that Member States are at very different stages in the development of the digital economy; some, for example, such as the Nordic countries, are among the most advanced in the world, whilst other still have a lot of catching up to do.
