The S3 Platform seeks expressions of interest from National and Regional authorities to participate in the three Peer eXchange and Learning (PXL) workshops that will be organised in 2020 on governance and strategy management; entrepreneurial discovery process; monitoring and evaluation.
To establish and support networking between interested regions in order to facilitate inter-regional collaboration and identify opportunities for funding of joint projects, a mapping exercise has been launched.

Following the first global workshop on Smart Specialisation held in Seville (Spain) in September 2018, the Smart Specialisation Platform published a Science for Policy Report on "Smart Specialisation in the world, an EU policy approach helping to discover innovation globally".
The High Level Industrial Roundtable discussed trends and challenges facing European industries by 2030.The Commission unveiled preliminary recommendations of the expert group on Strategic Value Chains on 6 February 2019 in EU Industry Days.

The EU Industry Days were established in the spirit of co-creation, dialogue and cooperation with all relevant stakeholders. The programme will be once more co-created by the European Commission and by stakeholders.
The purpose of this meeting was to exchange on Smart Specialisation, building on European and international experiences, and to envisage to what extent it could feed into Peru's research and innovation policies.

The EU's approach to regional economic development through Smart Specialisation is gaining a world-wide following. The JRC organises the first global meeting of Smart Specialisation experts from five continents to discuss this participatory approach to economic transformation.
The book discusses recent innovation and diversification paths in agri-food, specifically the linkages among food research and innovation, production, consumption, gastronomy, and place branding as well as technology. It also focuses on EU policies and instruments in support of R&I activities in agri-food, and explores agri-food domains within the context of smart specialisation.
