The First SMARTER Conference on Smart Specialisation and Territorial Development was co-organised by the S3 Platform and the Regional Studies Association
This joint event organised by the Technology Region Karlsruhe and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) discussed how regions and local communities could contribute to reaching ambitious and sustainable greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in the energy sector. The event addressed representatives of the local and regional government level in different European regions, scientists and experts as well as representatives of the European Commission to discuss good practices and innovative concepts for smart energy solutions at local and regional level.
The S3 Platform, together with DG GROW and DG REGIO, had organised its first Industrial Modernisation Information Day, on 11 May in Brussels to discuss its organisation and explore possible focus areas. The S3 Platform, together with DG RTD, DG Regio and DG Agri, had organised a first Information Day, on 12 May in Brussels, about the start-up of this Agri-Food Platform, to discuss its organisation and explore possible focus areas. The S3 Platform, together with DG GROW and DG REGIO, will organise an Information Day, on the 11th of May in Brussels. This event will focus on the launch of the new Industrial Modernisation S3 Platform, its organisation and focus areas.
This S3 implementation workshop aimed at supporting trans-regional collaboration on a few selected S3 priority fields that may benefit from additional exposure to the relevant European stakeholders.
This workshop was organised by the S3 Platform in co-operation with the Regional Government of Tuscany.
EDP requires not only the capacity of entrepreneurs to identify local strengths but also the ability of governments to collect and assess the information received in order to align policy measures to the selected activities.
