The purpose of this workshop was to discuss the role of KETs in the process of developing and implementing RIS3. As a number of European Regions identified Agro-food activities to be focused on their RIS3 exercises, the event specifically addressed the role and importance of KETs in this agro-food sector. The sector must be understood from a cluster approach comprising Agriculture, Food Industry, Logistic, and Environmental aspects, etc.
The S3 Platform, with the support of DG CONNECT, organised this pilot workshop on priority setting and collaboration within the thematic area of ICT.

During this workshop, five European regions - Aragón, Balearic Islands, Lapland, Marche and Pomorskie - presented the current status of their work on RIS3. The rest of the workshop participants acted as 'critical friends' and discussed the strategies of the five regions under review.
