The S3 Platform together with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy organised the Danube smart specialisation (S3) workshop “Gathering opportunities around RIS3 priorities” in Vienna, Austria. The workshop aimed at identifying concrete initiatives for transnational cooperation around some common smart specialisation priorities in the Danube region. The workshop provided the arena to explore collaboration opportunities in ICT, health, energy and sustainable innovations.
The conference presented the results of the awareness campaign and the steps ahead of the EU initiative on the Smart use of ICT and the integration of SMEs in global industrial value chains.
In the framework of the 6th EUSBSR annual forum in Jurmala (LV) the S3P together with EUSBSR Priority Area Innovation and Skåne region co-organised the workshop "Connecting RIS3 in the BSR" which was focused on the BSR efforts to collaborate in the S3 priorities in health and in particular e-Health aspects.
At this high-level conference, the joint initiative of the Directorates-General for Regional and Urban Policy, Energy, and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) was launched in order to set up a platform of smart specialisation on energy and brought together representatives from EU institutions, Member States and their regions, energy experts and stakeholders to reflect on and discuss the relevance of Smart Specialisation in the energy sector.
Synergies with other EU, national or regional programmes are encouraged in Horizon 2020 in order to stimulate the use of the new opportunities to bring together funding from different and also public sources for industrial projects.
RIM Plus Workshop - "Developing new industrial value chains through open innovation collaboration spaces"29/04/2015
The RIM Plus organised in cooperation with DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission and Emilia-Romagna Region, a workshop on developing new industrial value chains across European regions, taking advanced manufacturing as an example. It was the first in a series of eight events to be organised during the period 2015-2016.
This was a thematic workshop aimed at technology developers, appliers, end-users, and regional governments is organised by the European Joint Undertaking on Fuel Cells & Hydrogen (FCH) the French region Rhône-Alpes in cooperation with the S3 Platform has as an objective boosting collaboration between the FC industry and the regions interested in applying FCH based solutions in their Smart Specialization priorities.
