This workshop was organised by the Regional Innovation Monitor Plus Partners (Technopolis Group, ERRIN, Fraunhofer ISI and UNU-MERIT) and Greater Birmingham West Midlands Brussels Office. The focus was on Advanced Manufacturing and European industrial policy and strategies to counter the declining role of manufacturing in Europe.
The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, in cooperation with IASP, the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation organised a workshop The Role of Science Parks in Smart Specialisation.
This meeting was co-organised by the Conference for Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) and the Smart Specialisation Platform. The purpose of this workshop was to discuss the role of KETs in the process of developing and implementing RIS3. As a number of European Regions identified Agro-food activities to be focused on their RIS3 exercises, the event specifically addressed the role and importance of KETs in this agro-food sector. The sector must be understood from a cluster approach comprising Agriculture, Food Industry, Logistic, and Environmental aspects, etc.
