Description
Online Workshop – “Industrial cooperation & smart recovery” organised in the framework of the 18th European Week of Regions and Cities
The COVID-19 crisis is having a devastating impact on industrial activities in the EU. The whole industrial model in EU regions will need to be reconstructed. An additional challenge for Smart Specialisation is to embed the digital and sustainability dimensions into the new programming period to achieve competitive sustainability.
In line with the European Green Deal and the EU industrial strategy, the green and digital dimensions of Smart Specialisation will have to be enhanced, thus paving the way for a new generation of Smart Specialisation industrial strategies.
In recent years, the Smart Specialisation Platform for Industrial Modernisation (S3P-Industry) has supported industrial modernisation across the EU by facilitating the emergence of inter-regional partnerships focused on shared investment projects. This workshop will be an opportunity to meet experts who have been facilitating the process, and start thinking about how it could be adapted to the recovery period ahead of us.
