As the Innovation Hub for the Greater Nantes economic and University area, Atlanpole plays a key role within the main multidisciplinary area of innovation in Western France.

Atlanpole is the science based business incubator for the whole region Pays de la Loire. As a EU-BIC and the reference point of contact for two thematic French Tech networks, it fosters the emergence, creation and development of innovative companies, of start-up companies and of small and medium sized enterprises ( beyond 300 companies in the past 20 years, with a 90% start-up 5 years survival rate).

A long time member of both EBN and IASP Innovation networks, Technopole of the Nantes University basin, Atlanpole is the “driving force” of the Greater Nantes Area of Innovation, comprising more than 460 companies, several Sciences Parks, incubators, accelerators, and connecting all Western France innovative clusters from various fields (Digital, Advanced Manufacturing, Biotech, Agrofood, Clean Tech, …) :  Atlanpole is the operational relay in Pays de la Loire region of "Images & Réseaux" , the Western France digital cluster and  the Sea cluster  "Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique" as well. Atlanpole has developed since its origin strong operational partnership with "Pôle EMC2", the Advanced Manufacturing cluster, and is providing full support to the  Western France Bio-Cluster, Atlanpole Biotherapies.

In Virtus Technology is specialised in geolocation of equipments in different types of environments indoor or outdoor. Wit hits radio tags and its digital platform, InVirtus allows companys to have an overview of their park. The company was founded in February 2018 by 4 associates, including 2 managers. They want to become a leader in terms of gelocated solutions of specific equipments, especially for industrial companies. They need help to reach this ambitious goal.

In February 2018, in Virtus Technologies was laureate of our program « Manufacturing factory ». During 6 months, the company had the opportunity to benefit from an optimal context to develop its activity : individual coaching, collective workshops and the support of several experts in the key domains of entrepreneurship and innovation : marketing and business development, legal issues, human resources, finance). The industrials partners of the programme (Airbus, Tronico, STX, Michelin) also contributed by opening their plants for visits and meetings and sharing their experience and their networks. At the end of the programme, In Virtus Technologies « pitched » for a committee gathering industrials and fund providers and for a larger audience during a networking event.

After Manufacturing factory, In Virtus Technologies benefits form our individual « BIC » coaching programme : during 5 years, a coach, a network and specific workshops.

i-MARECO Performance and life cycle of port infrastructure

Port infrastructure must fulfil its functions over a lengthy period of service. This demands surveillance from the design stage accompanied by appropriate maintenance. The infrastructure is also exposed to severe weather conditions and so is prone to deterioration relating to materials, damage to components, settlement of foundations and possible scouring and sedimentation while in service.

A sensible and efficient approach to design now involves introducing a vision of the infrastructure life cycle and thus integrating expected performance requirements into the cycle of use and surveillance and maintenance procedures.

The i-MARECO project will therefore develop an overall cost strategy for maritime infrastructure by putting in place surveillance systems (multi-sensor instrumentation) that will optimise management and performance over time as well as contribute to feedback.

The i-MARECO project will be based on the major works (‘Grand Quai’ development project) which are being carried out by Bouygues at the maritime port of Nantes/Saint Nazaire. The works involve construction of a 350-metre General Cargo and Container Terminal situated at Montoir.
