Algebra LAB is an innovation/research and education hub, working as a part of the largest private educational institution in Croatia, Algebra University Group. Algebra LAB represents a one-stop relevant experience point for the application of digital technologies in business.

Our mission is to provide access to best practices, education, use cases, guidelines and support in applying digital technologies and the development of digital skills in order to help clients address their challenges in a business-focused way and with a common service model, offering services that are not readily accessible elsewhere. By leveraging our expertise, we are providing support on all levels of digital maturity, agnostic to technology, across various sectors, with proven ability to predict future skill needs.

Algebra LAB as DIH is supporting companies in the region and across sectors respectively with expertise in digital technologies they need for their digital projects and digital transformation in several areas: 

  1. Data science&advanced analytics including IoT, AI and blockchain,
  2. Digital marketing,
  3. Digital art production and
  4. Cybersecurity.

DIH is providing access to experts in digital technologies as well as use cases and best educational practice, making possible for companies, and especially SMEs, to utilise DIHs resources in order to focus on quality and competitiveness of their services and market presence. Using the 20 years of our educational/research market legacy, Algebra LAB community includes 600+ experts, 15.000+ participants/year, 1.000+ active students and 50+ industry partners.

Within Algebra LAB, we established an innovation incubator/accelerator and acquired as its basis the oldest Croatian entrepreneurship incubator ZIP ( This enabled us to attain access to funding for SMEs, as well as to develop an innovation ecosystem and incubator/mentoring services.

As a part of our instituional focus on promotion and raising awareness concerning the importance of digital technologies, we are taking roles and partnerships in regional, national and European policy initiatives for industry digitalization.

Algebra LAB je inovacijsko/istraživački edukacijski centar pokrenut u okviru najvećeg privatnog obrazovnog sustava u Hrvatskoj, Algebra Grupe. Algebra LAB predstavlja jedinstvenu točku relevantnog iskustva o primjeni digitalnih tehnologija u poslovanju te načina kako moderna edukacija unapređuje taj proces.

Naša misija je osigurati pristup najboljoj praksi, edukaciji, korisničkim iskustima, smjernicama i podršci kod primjene digitalnih tehnologija te razvoju digitalnih vještina, a kako bi kroz te aktivnosti pomogli klijentima adresirati izazove poslovnog okruženja kroz strukturirani pristup, pružanjem usluga koje nisu raspoložive drugdje. Kao dio Algebra LABa, uspostavili smo inovacijski inkubator/akcelerator, koji je dodatno osnažen preuzimanjem najstarijeg nacionalnog poduzetničkig inkubatora (ZIP; Time smo dobili pristup financiranju za SME, razvojnim programima u području inovacije te mentorskoj mreži.

Labour Market Dynamics Monitoring using Big Data

Client profile: labor market stakeholders and policy makers

Client needs: to understand labour market dynamics

Provided solution: developed system provides a profound insight into the supply and demand of skills in the labor market and the gap between the same with the main aim of supporting decision-making in employment policies and the education system; as part of the system, projections of skills that will be required in the future in certain geographic areas are successfully presented; use of regional data enabled the insight into all the specifics of the EU labor market, which was one of the main goalspreparing the solution, data from tens of millions of job adverts from the European Center for the Development of Vocational Education (CEDEFOP) was used; in addition to these advertisements, job advertisements were also published on the European Job Mobility Portal (EURES), data from 4.7 million resume job seekers.

Client profile: media industry coverage/rating (AGB Nielsen)

Client needs: to find new vays for data monetization and to improve current services

Provided solution: Nielsen AD Insights is the latest type of report of AGB Nielsen Media Research (Croatia) based on TV ratings measuring data by using the peoplemeter TAM system. NAI report offers, in a quick and clear way, an insight into important parameters of TV advertising campaigns, it simplifies management and control of TV campaigns. The data is presented by using interactive Tableau software visuals, enabling a fast and simple overview and interpretation of data regardless of size. NAI report is a simple and intuitive approach with excellent visual analytics which makes it easier to spot potential problems in brand advertising, emerging trends and results.

Client profile: turist board (TZ Šibenik)

Client needs: to understand dynamics and movement patterns/behaviour of visitors on tourist location

Provided solution:  solution includes a practical prototype model for customer experience management at the destination, based on models that analyze behavior (virtual world data, destination behavior data, profiling), economic indicators (prices, supply, demand) and perception and experience indicators (fidelity, brand recognition, virtual and network value of the destination); system is fully compatible with all the provisions on personal data protection.

NLP Based System for Addres Matching in Logistics

Client profile: logistics company

Client needs: increase efficency of address matching as base for devivery process improvement

Provided solution: solution deals with NLP technique and machine learning as support for automatic routing of express delivery, ie, matching the address between the transaction system and the address base with the machine learning elements, and the option for the system to learn through a backlinks connection to the wrong paired addresses; as broad research goals, address matching models, dynamic routing of express delivery, more adequate routing of scheduled routes, optimization and prediction of time required for each group of shipments and statistics for individual groups and phases (eg "on-time shipments per day")
