Description

Description

Vilnius Tech Park is the largest ICT startup hub in the Baltics and Nordics. Vilnius tech Park officially opened in November 2016 as the first privately-owned ICT startup hub. We currently house more than 65 startups, a large co-working space, 3 VC funds, 2 accelerators and some larger brands, such as Google Lithuania or Bored Panda. Startup Lithuania, part of Enterprise Lithuania, focusing on startups, is also based with us.

We are also EIT InnoEnergy and EIT Climate-KIC representatives in Lithuania, constantly seeking for startups offering innovative solutions in energy, climate and cleantech areas. Our main aim is not to be a business centre, but rather build and increase the startup ecosystem in the country/ region as well as increase its competencies - we do so by organising a variety of events, meet up sessions, office hours and other community-building activities. For energy and cleantech startups we offer specifically-tailored acceleration programmes, mentorship and financial support.

In order to increase the skills and competencies of the Lithuanian and regional startup teams (both internally at Vilnius Tech Park and beyond), we arrange and offer a series of events, such as office hours, mentorship sessions, special "Tech days", introduce the latest and greatest trends worldwide (for example, we share and analyse the most important information of Mary Meeker's Internet Trends' report annually a few days after the mentioned report is published; we arranged and hosted the Digital Challengers' report with McKinsie and Google; we hosted the first ever Facebook and Google events in Lithuania, etc.), organise hackathons, pitch competitions and more. All of these events aim to educate our startup ecosystem and encourage them to try to achieve more. Speaking of education, we are currently building a startup-tailored education programme, which willl focus on a number of topics, such as B2B sales, B2B marketing, Digital and performance marketing, Product development, Product management, Customer success.

Service Examples

InnoEnergy Primer training

1. Energy-related startups in Lithuania are yet scarce and lacking opportunities, including training and workshops, which would increase their team competencies and skills. As InnoEnergy Hub Lithuania we took an opportunity and an obligation to assist teams while overcoming this challenge and providing them with on line ad off line tools to develop their business skills anywhere from idea generation to attracting investors.

2. We developed and implemented "Primer" in Lithuania. Primer is a series of on line and off line trainings and bootcamps with the idea to boost team competencies by providing quality training and mentorship. Our tool was developed based on the recommendations of EIT.

3. A huge part of "Primer" training takes place on-line - a specific digital tool was developed for this particular purpose. Such an e-learning platform has not been created in Lithuania before.

4. CHRG network: rokas@chrg.network

SaaS hackathon

1. Our client was looking for SaaS solutions, which could be applied to both digital newsletter and other areas.

2. We developed and organised a 48-hour SaaS hackathon, aiming to create solutions to the challenge our client was facing.

3. All 11 ideas developed during the hackathon were service prototypes.

4. MailerLite: ilma@mailerlite.com

Climate-KIC acceleration programme

1. Teams working in sustainable/ cleantech fields were lacking resources to boost or scale their products and/or services.

2. We created an EIT-approved Climate-KIC acceleration programme, which allowed us to award micro grants (15k - 50k Eur) to 7 teams working in the field, as well as offer them a series of workshops (such as B2B sales academy) and provide regular consultations with professional mentors.

3. Training material of all workshops is made available for the participants on line, so that they can look back to the training after it is over.

4. Unicorn scooters: ignas@unicornscooters.com
