Sofia Tech Park is the first science and technology park in Bulgaria, created with the aim to be established as a platform for exchange of knowledge and ideas between the academic field, the business, the government and the society.

Its mission is to turn into a prestigious location for the world, regional and national researchers and the innovative companies in Bulgaria and through the Balkans. To enhance the system for support of innovation and new technologies by providing aid to companies, which contribute to the development of the economy and the knowledge in the country. To unite the efforts of the business and science, by focusing mainly on development and implementation of projects in the three focal points of the park – ICT, life science and clean energy.

The park’s goal is to enhance the competitiveness of science and entrepreneurship in Bulgaria through improvement of exchange of knowledge between academic field and the business. To act as a platform for development of start-ups and innovation ideas and to catalyze the commercialization process of scientific research.

In order to complete its mission the science and technology park partners with leading universities, business clusters, big international companies, Sofia Municipality, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, non-governmental institutions and others.

"Sofia Tech Park" is registered in the Commercial register of Bulgaria under the Bulgarian Commercial Law and its ownership is 100% of the Ministry of Economy of Bulgaria.

Основната цел пред София Тех Парк е да подсили развитието на технологичните проучвания, иновациите  на България посредством различни проекти. За тази цел София Тех Парк ще си партнира с различни частни и публични институции, за да се създаде и менажира уникална обстановка за иновации, да построи и имплементира  образователни програми  и да подкрепя комерсиализацията на нови технологии, продукти и услуги.

София Тех Парк е регистриран в Търговския регистър на България съгласно българския Търговски закон и 100% от собствеността му е на Министерство на икономиката на България.

•     What service(s) provided (different from example? The main objective of the lab is to develop the capacity of Bulgarian science in the field of bioelectronics, bioinformatics and biotechnology. It’s role is also to establish itself as a modern center for technological knowledge, scientific research, education and training of professionals, research and development activities and innovation.
•     The relation with digitization? The fact that we introduce the combination of informatics to biology provides a huge opportunity for innovation and digitization.

•     Short description (what need was solved)? Virtual and Augmented Reality Lab

Training, research and correction three-dimensional models of products and equipment in true to scale immersive environment using natural interaction techniques for visual verification of the structure and properties of objects and integration of tactile feedback and sound effects for the purposes of rapid development of systems and support in decision-making and development and practical application of methods for virtual prototyping based on the collaboration of software for engineering analysis and simulation systems for virtual and augmented reality.
