Description
The workshop was organized jointly by the Smart Specialisation Platform and the Centro Region of Portugal. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the Opportunities for rural areas in developing and implementing Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3).
The event gathered over 50 participants from across Europe to reflect on how smart specialisation can be adapted to rural areas. The workshop was highly participative and the results were channaled to be part of Policy Brief 9/2014 for EU and national policy makers.
