To reinforce dialogues on smart specialisation among Arctic regions the S3 Platform of Joint Research Centre together with Norwegian Research Centre NORCE is organising a side event in the framework of 2020 Arctic Frontiers conference in Troms, Norway. Arctic Frontiers each year gathers more than 3500 delegates from 35 countries and provides a forum for dialogue and communication between science, government and industry.
Smart specialisation concept developed for higher impact of the research and innovation investments of EU countries has found very relevant applications in European Arctic regions. The aim of the session is to bring European Arctic regions together for sharing their approaches and developments of smart specialisation. Arctic regions working on similar and interconnected priorities such as e.g. digitalisation, circular economy, sustainable utilisation of natural resources, experience industries and other will have opportunity to explore and connect smart specialisation knowledge nodes for cross-regional networking in search for joint investment solutions. The session will propose a discussion on strengthening emerging and already established joint S3 initiatives towards a sustainable, innovative Arctic Region.
