  • Awarding a quality label to project proposals passing all selection but eventually not funded under the available Call budget 

The SEAL of EXCELLENCE is a quality label awarded to project proposals submitted for funding under Horizon 2020, which succeeded in passing all of the stringent selection and award criteria but could not be funded under the available Call budget. The 'Seal' identifies project proposals which merit funding from alternative sources public or private, national, regional, European or international.  More on DG-RTD Synergies with Structural Funds page.

The Mobilising Institutional Reforms in Research and Innovation Systems aimed at encouraging a better exploitation of European research and innovation programmes and participation in the European Research Area of the EU13 countries.  MIRRIS set up a process of analysis, dialogue, mutual learning among key concerned stakeholders, namely research, innovation and institutional actors.

  • Facilitating trans-national co-operation between NCPs

The NCP_WIDE.NET objective is to create a transnational network of National Contact Points (NCPs) for Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation under Horizon 2020 in order to facilitate trans-national co-operation and share good practices between NCPs, and raise standards of support to applicants.

  • Providing advisory services on financial instruments

is a unique platform for advisory services on financial instruments under the European Structural and Investment funds (ESIF) and microfinance under the Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI).   fi_compass is designed to support ESIF managing authorities, EaSI microfinance providers and other interested parties, by providing practical know-how and learning tools on financial instruments.

  • Providing support for the Public-Public-Partnerships

is a support platform for the Public-Public-Partnerships (P2P) community building on the information and services previously provided by ERA-LEARN, NETWATCH, and JPIs To Co Work.  ERA-LEARN 2020 involves the main stakeholders engaged in designing and deploying the broad structures and functions for the coordination and cooperation of national and/ or regional research programmes.

  • Focussing on space technologies and aeronautics industry

The Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies is an initiative by regions from all over Europe, which share as Full Members its governance.  The NEREUS network aims to explore the benefits of space technologies for Regions and their citizens and to spread their applications.

is a Public Private Partnership between the European Commission and the European aeronautics industry.  CLEAN SKY mission is to develop breakthrough technologies to significantly increase the environmental performances of airplanes and air transport, resulting in less noisy and more fuel efficient aircraft, hence bringing a key contribution in achieving the Single European Sky environmental objectives.

  • Focussing on health research & innovation

The European Regions Network for Health Research & Innovation (RegHealth-RI) is a 2-year project funded by EU under the Horizon 2020 framework aimed at analysing, discussing and improving the performance of health research & innovation across the different EU regions and countries.  RHInG-Net is one of its networking activities planned to contribute to project outreach and encourage the emergence of a solid and specialised network.
