Nearly 117 BSR cooperation projects will receive support from Interreg Programmes

New transnational projects have been granted with funding from Interreg programmes. The support from Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programmes and Interreg South Baltic Programme amounts almost EUR 109 million. Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme approved support for 39 new projects and and Interreg South Baltic Programme accepted 12 new projects.

The investment of €500 million in a pan-European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) is a pivotal part of this strategy. As part of the implementation of this strategy a Digital Innovation Hubs Catalogue will be created, Through this survey potential Digital Innovation Hubs can apply to be part of the catalogue.

Launching study: Smart Specialisation in Latin America

The objective of this event is twofold: first, it will allow presenting the main findings of the research study: "Smart Specialisation in Latin America" which has been conducted to analyse how policy makers and other territorial actors in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile and Argentina are designing and implementing the Smart Specialisation concept. Second, it will serve as an opportunity to establish active synergies between practitioners of smart specialisation in the European Union and Latin America.

74 European regions have been recognised as Reference Sites of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing for their commitment to excellence in investing and scaling up innovative digital solutions for active and healthy ageing. The Reference Sites range from Oulu, Finland, to Heraklion-Crete, Greece and from Andalucia, Spain to Olomouc, Czech Republic. Together, they commit to investing more than €4 billion in digital innovation for active and healthy ageing, which is expected to benefit over 5 million people in the next 3 years.
