The SLOVAKIA National Event was co-organised by the S3 Platform - S2E project and the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
Based on the outcomes of the four Entrepreneurial Discovery Process focus groups (on wine, dairy and meat, tourism and marble/non-metallic minerals) and of the first Project Development Lab (PDL), selected ideas were further developed towards implementation in a second PDL. This took place on the 24th of June at the Hotel Astir Egnatia in Alexandropoulis. The Clean Sky Joint Undertaking is organising a conference at the Paris Air Show - Conference Centre on synergy between Clean Sky and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) with the aim of developing close interactions with interested EU Member States and Regions in order to strengthen both their R&I innovation capacity in aeronautics and the leverage effect resulting from synergies between ESIF and the Clean Sky programmes.
In the framework of the 6th EUSBSR annual forum in Jurmala (LV) the S3P together with EUSBSR Priority Area Innovation and Skåne region co-organised the workshop "Connecting RIS3 in the BSR" which was focused on the BSR efforts to collaborate in the S3 priorities in health and in particular e-Health aspects.
Innovative Regions: Time to Act! - The State Education Development Agency of Latvia and the European Commission have the pleasure to invite you to participate at the International Conference "Week of Innovative Regions in Europe 2015", which is organised under the frame of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In the frame of the S3P project, this workshop took place to discuss the role of RTOs in smart specialisation (in particular implementation). RTOs are important actors in the innovation chain and can play a key role in the implementation of Smart Specialisation Strategies. Representatives from local governments, RTOs and European Commission will participate in this workshop.
Across Europe (and even outside), regions are at different stages in the quest for smart specialisation, from understanding what it means and setting a vision for the future, to establishing priorities through an entrepreneurial process of discovery, and finally to begin implementing their strategies.
At this high-level conference, the joint initiative of the Directorates-General for Regional and Urban Policy, Energy, and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) was launched in order to set up a platform of smart specialisation on energy and brought together representatives from EU institutions, Member States and their regions, energy experts and stakeholders to reflect on and discuss the relevance of Smart Specialisation in the energy sector.
This smart specialisation seminar was organised in Brno for participants from both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The seminar was aimed at discussing the conditions for the fulfilment of the ex-ante conditionality "innovation strategy for smart specialisation" foreseen within the proposal of SF regulations for the programming period 2014-2020.
Many of the promising ideas generated during the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP) focus groups were further pursued in line with possible funding sources in the first Project Development Lab (PDL). This workshop event took place in Komotini on 6-7 May 2015.
