The High Level Event of the Smart Specialisation Platform on Energy is organised with a twofold objective: to showcase the results achieved so far and also to discuss on the most effective ways to keep assisting regions specialised in the energy domain. Particular focus will be given to the interregional cooperation dynamics in the domains of bioenergy, smart grids, sustainable buildings, marine renewables and solar.
This high level event will take place on Thursday the 25th of January 2018 in Brussels.
BACKGROUND. In May 2015, the “Smart Specialisation Platform on Energy” (S3PEnergy) was launched with the aim to support the implementation of the Smart Specialisation Strategies of those regions/Member States that have chosen energy-related priorities, and to assist them to use Cohesion Policy funding more effectively. The project has been centred in providing expertise and methodological support to all the agents engaged in energy and innovation, and in promoting mutual transnational learning activities. One of its more tangible results is the creation of five interregional partnerships, with the participation of more than 60 regions or Member States.
