The S3 Thematic Platform Days: Conference and Meetings, co-hosted by the Basque Country, will consist of a Joint Thematic Platforms Conference and three independent platform-specific meetings.
The EPPN is organising a specific session with regions to discuss different activities like: • Coordination to future research policy and innovation directions, • Identify and recommend strategy development at European, national and regional level, with particular focus on innovation barriers and the exploitation of pilot production facilities, • Explore Synergies with national, regional initiatives including RTD&I Programming (Smart specialisation), • Establish national and regional contacts that have expressed interest to work with the EPPN • Establish contacts and monitor best international practices related to the pilot production facility development, • Identify Value Chain and Ecosystem development needs related to pilot plants and support further integration.

Social economy enterprises and traditional, for-profit enterprises collaborate in many ways. Together, they can co-create value for both partners and become a real source of jobs and social impact in Europe. Yet, the potential of value creation through collaboration between these two types of enterprises is not fully exploited.
Why are companies investing so intensely in the Textile and Clothing sector in Europe nowadays? What opportunities is this positive trend creating?
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) has been working on the topic of social economy enterprises for the past decade and a dedicated permanent study group has been created in 2016. In view of the success of the European Day of social economy enterprises in 2016 and 2017, it was proposed to organise a 3rd edition of this event.
