The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission organises on 25 September 2018 the first global workshop on Smart Specialisation worldwide, which will take place in Seville (Spain) ahead of the 2018 edition of the Smarter Conference.
Building on European successes and experiences, Smart Specialisation is increasingly being considered a driver of decentralised innovation policies in several countries and regions around the world. Against this background, this workshop aims to showcase the main developments of various non-EU countries in the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa in the implementation and/or adaptation of the Smart Specialisation approach, and to bring together the Smart Specialisation worldwide community, learning from experience and exploring possible cooperation between the participating institutions.
It will give a unique opportunity to bring together recognised academics, experts from international organisations, policy-makers and practitioners of Smart Specialisation, as well as European Commission representatives and representatives from the European Union External Action Service (EEAS).
Please note that only invited delegates will be able to attend the conference.
